US President Donald Trump called Hollywood “racist” before boarding a helicopter on the White House lawn in Washington DC on Friday.
“They’re treating conservatives very unfairly. Hollywood, I don’t call them the ‘elites,’ I think the elites are people they go after in many cases. But Hollywood is really terrible. You talk about racist, Hollywood is racist,” said Trump.
Although Trump did not specify what he was referring to, his comment followed the controversy around new film ‘The Hunt’, in which elites hunt so-called ‘deplorables’ for sport. Following recent shootings in the US, the film studio Universal temporarily pulled the ads for the movie.
“What they’re doing with the kind of movies they’re putting out is actually very dangerous for our country,” Trump told the reporters.
The US President also touched on the tension with China and said that he will not “do business with Huawei.”
“China wants to do something, but I’m not ready to do anything yet. Twenty-five years of abuse – I’m not ready so fast, so we’ll see how that works out,” added Trump.
The US and China have been involved in a trade war, with the Trump administration imposing tariffs on billions of dollars’ worth of Chinese goods and Beijing retaliating.
